Festival Funding
Do you have a fantastic idea for an event as part of the Highlands & Islands Climate Festival? Would you like to hold a Community Picnic in your town or village as part of the Festival? We have funding to help you hold your event.
Event funding of up to £250 is available via application for any type of community climate friendly event you would like to hold. Take a look at our event inspiration blog if you are searching for ideas. You might want to hold a clothing swap or swish, a community garden event or tool library launch or get creative and engage your community in other ways.
If the event you are looking to hold is on a bigger scale, collaborative with other communities or you think that it could be one of our main events we do have larger funds available at the discretion of our Team. Simply get in touch with us via email to enquiries@hiclimatehub.co.uk to discuss further with the staff team at the Highlands & Islands Climate Hub.
Looking to host a Community Picnic event? We have funding of up to £200 per event to help stage this. You could use this funding to buy local food for your event or to invest in reusable cups and plates to help you drop the disposables or for entertainment for your event. We’d love to see as many picnics held as possible on Saturday 30th September but if your date is outwith this we would still love to hear from you. We’re working with the Highland Good Food Partnership to encourage the use of local, sustainable food and will be sharing ideas on how you can incorporate local food into your event.

Of course, you don’t need to reinvent the wheel, many community groups and organisations throughout the region are carrying out spectacular climate action activities on a weekly basis. So if you are already holding an event or activity from 1st - 30th September in your community please submit it to our event guide to include in the festival and have us promote it for you.
